When it comes to your health, you don’t want to risk following outdated or untrustworthy information. One of the best sites for finding health information is MedlinePlus®.
Brought to you by the U.S. National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health, MedlinePlus provides information to patients and their families in language that’s easy to understand. According to their website, “MedlinePlus brings together authoritative information from NLM, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and other government agencies and health-related organizations. MedlinePlus also contains extensive information about drugs and supplements, an illustrated medical encyclopedia, interactive tutorials, the latest health news, and surgery videos.” Another helpful aspect of the site is its medical dictionary, where you can look up words you don’t understand.

Many of you have seen our Teen Yoga events and asked, “Do you have yoga classes for adults?”
We are very happy to announce that the Jessamine County Health Department is now offering FREE yoga classes for anyone ages 18 to 62.
Yoga Flow is designed to improve the health, performance, and mental acuity of individuals interested in improving their level of fitness. Taught in a practical, user-friendly style, Yoga Flow is accessible, understandable, and doable by individuals at any level of fitness. Benefits include strength, balance, flexibility, muscle tone, reduced stress, mental stability, and inner peace.
Two classes are offered each week:
- Tuesdays, 2 to 3 p.m., at Jessamine Christian Church
130 Courchelle Drive, Nicholasville
- Wednesdays, 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., at the YMCA
220 East Maple Street, Nicholasville
You may drop in anytime, but registration is required. So call the Health Department at (859) 885-4149 today!
