New Research Debunks Popular Ideas about Teen Drinking

A recent story from NPR features research on teenage alcohol consumption. Highlights include the fact that drinking alcohol, even in limited quantities, before the mid-twenties age range can do irreparable damage to thinking and memory. Also, the study shows that parents who show complete disapproval of underage drinking, and set rules of zero tolerance, actually prevent risky drinking behavior in teens once they get to college. This debunks the popular idea that adult-supervised drinking or socializing teens to drink will prevent excessive drinking later on.
